Oklahoma City, OK (March 29, 2013)—Moses H. Cone  Memorial Hospital located in Greensboro, NC was recently featured in Medical Design and Construction magazine in a best practices article for air handler replacements in hospitals. The article, written by Scott Duckworth, VP and Division Manager of Brasfield & Gorrie General Contractors, shares Duckworth’s experience in replacing aging air handlers with severe ingress constraints

Twelve unit replacements were made using Governair® knock-down air handlers with FANWALL TECHNOLOGY®. Governair designs and manufactures replacement air handlers to the exact dimensions and performance required, and can deliver them to the jobsite in modules or fully knocked-down for easy access to the building interior. The FANWALL® array allows designers to break down large single or dual fan system to optimize more closely the fan-wheel geometry and motor horsepower for a specific application. The result is smaller fans and motors, running closer to peak efficiencies, thus reducing energy costs. The redundancy of the fan components adds to the unit’s reliability. If one motor fails, only that portion of the airflow is lost, unlike single fan designs. The small size of each FANWALL cube allows for easy transport through a standard width doorway.
